Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, also known as Gauranga, is worshiped by Gaudiya Vaishnavas as Krishna Himself in the mood and golden complexion of Radha. Appearing in Mayapur in 1486, he inaugurated the Harinam Sankirtan movement, teaching that chanting the holy names of Krishna is the most effective spiritual practice in the present age.
